In 
      Pre-Partition India, Khalsa College was the only institution to offer a B.Sc 
      degree in Agriculture besides other one being Agriculture College Lyallpur 
      (now in Pakistan). Over the years the college has played a significant role 
      in Punjab, helping to bring about the legendary Green revolution in the sixties 
      & seventies. A large number of agriculture scientists who adorn various key 
      positions at National and International levels are the pride products of this 
      institution. A few bright luminaries in this firmament include charismatic 
      Dr. Khem Singh Gill, Former Vice-Chancellor Punjab Agricultural University, 
      and Dr. N. S Randhawa, former Director General-ICAR & Secretary to Govt. of 
      India. The immediate past Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana-Dr. 
      K.S Aulakh is also one of its glorious students and a former faculty member.
      It is matter of great pride indeed that the Vice-Chancellors of 4 Agriculture 
      Universities of North India are Alumni of this institution. Besides these 
      the institution has been a place which nurtured students who are now Chief 
      Agriculture Officers, Block Development Officers, Agriculture & Horticulture 
      Development Officers in the state cadre, University Level teachers and Research 
      Faculty, eminent research scientists in reputed Universities & Research Institutions 
      in India/around the world constitute a great achievement for the Faculty of 
      Agriculture. It has also been a place where a large no. of Agriculture Inspectors, 
      Other Agro-Specialists working with private agro-based industries were a student.

      B.Sc Agriculture (Honours)- 4 year degree program & B.Sc (Food Tech)
      under Food Science & Technology 
      Department. The institute also offers Masters degree program in 3 specialties
      of Agronomy, Horticulture & Economics.
